STEP 1 The car is initially
washed thoroughly. This includes the wheels, the backs and the wheel arches.
The car is pre-sprayed with a quality traffic film remover, covering all
the lower areas of the car. A wash wax solution is then applied, covering
all parts of the car, including those already prepared.
|
|
STEP 2 The car is then rinsed down using our high pressure washer. The wheels, arches and door shuts are all rinsed down. The car is then leathered entirely. |
|
STEP 3 Firstly, the paintwork must be prepared. We study the paintwork to understand the problems. If needed, we carefully apply the Swissvax Paint Rubber. This is a mineral based putty compound that gently removes deposits from paint surfaces without harming the paintwork. Paint Rubber removes paint overspray, environmental and industrial contaminants and leaves an ultra smooth painted surface. Using the Swissvax Paint Rubber, we carefully move around the car applying the putty compound. With its highly effective properties it is able to remove many of the most common impurities found on modern (used and believe it or not, brand new) cars. |
|
STEP 4 Next, we apply the Swissvax Cleaner Fluids. Unlike many similar products, Swissvax has three levels of cleaner fluid. This allows the thorough preparation of the affected areas, removing far more contaminants than similar products. The Cleaner Fluid Strong is applied using a Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Applicator Pad, evenly with heavy pressure. The rubbing causes friction between the product's micro granules which leads to a progressively finer 'abrasive' polish. The product does not however contain abrasives. Swissvax Cleaner Fluid Strong is designed to remove, in a gentle and harmless way, swirling, light scratches and tree sap. This process, using a paint preserving solution will nourish the paint with its "heavy" polishing oils. This product helps to removes tar and old wax. However, Cleaner Fluid Strong stops short of the underlying paint layer, without scratching it. |
|
STEP
5 Now,
we apply the Cleaner
Fluid Medium. Once fully applied to all the painted surfaces, it is
then removed with a Swissvax Buffing Towel. In order for the wax to bond securely to
the paintwork, the final stage of Swissvax Cleaner Fluid
Pre-Wax Oil must be applied. Using a Swissvax Pre-Wax Applicator,
the fluid is applied in a more regimented manner, evenly covering the entire
vehicle. Once applied, it is removed using a Swissvax Buffing Towel.
A perfect natural device is then used to demonstrate the effectiveness of
the product. The paintwork squeaks as the Swissvax Pre-Wax Oil
is removed. Hence the term, "squeaky clean". |
|
STEP 6 Having prepared the car fully, we now seal the paintwork, using Swissvax's abrasive free waxes. Broadly speaking, the higher the wax content of the formulation, the better the protection and gloss that is afforded. We use as standard in our application Best of Show Wax (Smaragd), with over 51% Carnauba content. However, if you would prefer a specialised wax or a wax with a greater Carnauba content, these can all be found at Swissvax Options. We apply the wax directly onto the paintwork using the palms of both hands, warming up the wax using body heat and ensuring a smooth and effective application. Swissvax waxes help to protect against almost all everyday attacks on your paintwork, including industrial pollutants, airborne oxidants or soot from oil heating systems, acid rain, bird droppings, tree sap and insect residues. The paints used today in the automotive industry contain a significantly lower concentration of solvents than before. These changes have made them, as a rule, more difficult to polish. Swissvax polishes are an effective way to prevent hologramming, the resultant finish is haze-free and with a high gloss. |
|
STEP 7 Once fully applied
all over the vehicle the wax is buffed using a Swissvax Buffing Towel. We then buff again using an additional towel.
We then repeat the waxing process, applying a second coat of Best of Show Wax,
providing superior protection and finish. A further buff is carried out
and then the windows, door shuts and other painted area are treated.

|
STEP 8 As a new feature,
added for 2005, we now also prepare and apply Swissvax Autobahn Wax, this is a new and unique product developed
by Swissvax specially for alloy or magnesium wheels.
It has been tested in one of the harshest environments on earth, a Swiss
Winter. Autobahn is a wheel wax that enhances the surface of your wheels
with a visible smooth shine that helps repel brake dust particles. Due to
the Carnauba coating, enhanced with PTFE, it helps
to protect against brake dust, road salt, harsh winter chemicals, moisture
and road contaminates. Autobahn can be used on aluminium, magnesium coated
aluminium, magnesium chrome, clear coat and painted wheels; it can
be used on new and used wheels. Each wheel is initially treated with
Swissvax Paint
Rubber (if needed) and then
Swissvax cleaner
fluid. Once prepared we then apply the Swissvax Autobahn. |
|
STEP 9 Having fully completed the
cleaning and feeding stage of the process, the vehicle is then finished
off. Items such as the tyres and arches along with dark trim
items are dressed using Swissvax Pneu.
Areas such as the chrome are then detailed and the finished product is
then inspected to ensure quality control.
AS WITH ALL OUR
WORK THE SWISSVAX APPLICATION IS
FULLY GUARANTEED*

STEP 10 We will shortly be
introducing a Swissvax interior package, providing the same
high level of service and quality for the interior. Once again only approved
Swissvax products will be used.
The products are available already to purchase from our carvalet.co.uk SHOP. |
