  GUIDE TO WASHING YOUR CAR


You may have a spare couple of hours, so if you want to give it a try. Here's how..

You will need: -

  • 2 Quality Sponges (one for bodywork and one for wheels)
  • 2 Quality Leathers (one for bodywork and one for dashboard)
  • 2 Buckets (one for bodywork and one for wheels)
  • A Non-Oxidising Washing Detergent
  • A Quality Wheel Cleaner Detergent
  • A Quality Wheel Brush / Agitator
  • A Powerful Vacuum Cleaner with Crevice Tool
  • A Quality Window Cleaner
  • A Dashboard Dresser / Cleaner
  • A Quality Air-Freshener
  • Hose & Trigger or Pressure Washer

STEP 1

Make sure car is cool (not in direct sunlight) and free from excess mud and dirt - if needed rinse car down first with Hose or Pressure Washer.



STEP 2

Apply Wheel Cleaning Detergent to wheels and clean thoroughly using the Wheel Brush and then pressure wash.


STEP 3

Wash off wheels with first sponge.


STEP 4

Starting from the bottom of the car and working upwards apply Exterior Washing Detergent from second bucket to whole of car bodywork using the second sponge. Including bumpers, sills, skirts and internal rubber mats.


STEP 5

Starting from the top working downwards rinse car down (including wheels and internal rubber mats) using Hose or Pressure Washer ensuring all Detergent is removed.


STEP 6

Dry exterior using first Leather, then dry door shuts.


STEP 7

Vacuum all interior surfaces (including Seats, Carpets and Boot area) and empty ashtrays. Slide front seats forward and use Crevice Tool to get under and to the side of the seats.


STEP 8

Using second leather moisten and wipe all interior plastics, concentrating on dashboard and particularly soiled areas. Dress plastics using a quality Dashboard Cleaner (ensuring not to dress top area of dashboard to prevent windscreen glare).


STEP 9

Clean glass using a quality Glass Cleaner. Clean outside completely, then inside, surrounds and mirrors (including Vanity Mirrors and Rear View Mirror).



STEP 10

Go around vehicle and check all areas concerned and then collect equipment.
